Cies Islands
Pontevedra
The Cies Islands make up a National Park just off the coast of Galicia in the Atlantic Ocean. It was declared as such in 1980 in order to protect and preserve its beauty. There are three islands in total with rough terrain and cliffs of up to 100 metres.

The Camino de Santiago de Compostela is a series of pilgrimage routes that lead to the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, the supposed place where St James was buried. Pilgrims have walked the route for many years to honour James and most recently in 2005 more than 93,000 ventured to Galicia.

The destination of the Way of Saint James, this cathedral welcomes many visitors through its doors each year. The cathedral began to take shape in 1075 and continued to be constructed until 1122 before its consecration six years later. Further modifications were made between the 16th and 18th centuries.
Torre de Hercules

The Torre de Hercules is a Roman lighthouse just on the outskirts of A Coruña which was built somewhere in the region of 1,900 years ago. It reaches up 57 metres and is the oldest Roman lighthouse still in use today.
