About the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I

Hotel Rey Juan Carlos IThe Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I was opened in 1992 for the Barcelona Olympics and has since been extended, transforming it into a particularly large venue. It was named in honour of the Spanish king who attended the opening ceremony; he has visited on several other occasions.

The tall building has a magnificent inner atrium at its heart, around which the venue’s 17 floors are situated. Glass-sided lifts make their way up to the various floors and so guests can look out and marvel at the hotel’s insides.

The hotel is conveniently situated on one of the main avenues in Barcelona, and has easy access to the airports and motorways. For those using slightly more unusual methods of transport, the hotel offers a heliport and a dock at the Port Fòrum for boats up to 60 metres in length.

When it reaches meal times, guests can enjoy some food at the Polo restaurant, the Garden restaurant, the Pool restaurant or the array of bars which are found throughout the hotel’s grounds.

The Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I’s bedrooms culminate in the prestigious Presidential suite which is located on the 14th floor, and can be combined with another suite for the ultimate in comfort, space and sumptuousness. Finally, for meetings and events there are 14 facilities, the largest of which is able to accommodate for groups of up to 350 people. All sorts of events and activities can be held at the venue, including outdoor activities which make use of the marquees in the hotel’s gardens.
