Zaragoza Shopping

The centre of Zaragoza has three main shopping areas - Paseo de Independencia, Gran Via and La Zona. Paseo de Independencia also serves as the city’s central street and houses a number of small art and book shops as well as the everyday high street stores like Mango and Zara. Nearby there is another Meliá Zaragozaarea of shops at Gran Via where visitors are more likely to be able to soak up some of the culture at the numerous smaller and more unique shops.  A more expensive area to shop is in la zona part of Zaragosa just behind Saragasta. Just outside the city centre Gran Casa shopping centre falls in the Actur district of town. Gran Casa is the city’s largest shopping area and has a mass of sprawling shops.

There are also street markets dotted around and about, for example the Lanuza Market with a range of local produce. The historic Mercado Centro, or Central Market, provides an excellent location to buy some souvenirs in a playful and light-hearted atmosphere.

A couple of other shopping centres can be found by the San Ignacio de Loyola and Francisco de Vitoria, while for those looking specifically for souvenirs to remember the religious attractions in the city Plaza del Pilar has a range of shops for this purpose.
